Visitor Writes of His Stay With Us at Bayou Haven Bed & Breakfast

Often times we find that our guests want to enjoy the quiet serenity of the bayou and the beauty of what our property offers. However, each guest has such incredible stories and it's a lot of fun to get to know each and every one when they're willing to open up!

We've learned about some amazing lives, great adventures our guests are having along their way in their travels, and how much fun or relaxing a bed and breakfast actually can be! We sometimes don't realize the impact a change in atmosphere can have.

We hope you will take a look at this one guest's experience with us and decide to spend some time here soon. Seeing his perspective and attention to what we always provide, gave us ideas in ways we can always improve and hopefully introduce even more into everyone's experience at Bayou Haven.

Fall Into Something Fun on The Northshore

Slidell Streets Let You Fall For Antiques!

When the seasons change in the south, we find every possible reason to get out and enjoy the new pep in our step! The new crisp air brings about an excitement to want to explore and socialize. So naturally, outdoor events and offered amenities at our favorite spots, are a great interest this time of year.

In the fall issue of Cooking With Paula Deen, Bayou Haven Bed & Breakfast was named the number one most charming place to stay in St Tammany Parish. We're really excited about the honor, so we've got new things available for our guests, such as painting classes outdoors with local artists, guided nature trail hikes, and movie on the bayou night. Call to find out how we can arrange for you to enjoy these during your stay.

Continue exploring Slidell while you plan your trip, and mark October 28-29, 2017 for the Fall Antique Craft & Street Fair and the 35th annual time to be  part of over 200 vendors to spill onto the streets! Included are antiques, furniture, depression glass, vintage jewelry, art, pottery, handmade crafts, and FOOD!

Jazz on the Northshore!

For the first time, we can enjoy live jazz without crossing the lake. And if you're not familiar with that terminology, the residents of the Northshore don't have to travel across the twin span to New Orleans for an amazing weekend of Indoor/Outdoor EntertainmentContemporary Jazz, and Golf

"JIN JEANS PRODUCTIONS WILL PRESENT THE BEST IN CONTEMPORARY JAZZ WITH A LINE-UP FEATURING HEADLINER; GERALD ALBRIGHT, ALEX BUGNON, MARCUS ANDERSON, CHIELI MINUCCI AND MANY MORE ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH SHORES OF LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN IN SLIDELL, LOUISIANA."

This is a great addition to Slidell, and the Northshore in general. The location makes it easy to get to, whether you're coming from New Orleans or along the gulf. Here at Bayou Haven B&B, we're offering special pricing for the weekend on select rooms, so be sure to call for more information. Come out and support the Camellia City Smooth Jazz Festival this October and let us know what your think!

Making Friends Is Always In Season

Making Friends Is Always In Season

Vacations are usually planned around a holiday or season, or major time off, because let's face it, we want to be able to do something. We want to see something or experience something, right? Otherwise, why leave home?

A Bed & Breakfast is the amazing, comforting-wanderlust-brain-child that we all crave. It keeps us safe, yet shows us something shiny & new! What's not to love?

Go ahead and plan that trip to New Orleans next weekend if it's just the long drive or airfare, and reasonable stay in a quaint little B&B! The real thing you'll be gaining are memories, obviously. Not the type you saw already on social media that made you say, "What the heck?", but the kind of memories that happen when you meet people at your B&B who stay up late with you drinking & playing Scattergories. The kind that happen when the couple who gave you directions to the best Gumbo on the Northshore really paid off & it was. Or when that woman who insisted on singing a traditional native folk song for all the guests at breakfast & it was nothing like you'd ever heard.

These are your memories. These are your new friends...and you find yourself going back often. Not just once a year, not just when it's Thanksgiving or Summer. You don't need a reason...making friends is always in season.
